Pocket Watches around 1800

The 1800s are considered to be the height of classical clock-making. Extremely small timepieces with complex cases were made especially for ladies. A large number of additional indications and ingenious accessories were also offered.

Geneva and the adjoining regions of the Swiss Jura Mountains developed into the centres of this upscale clock-making industry. Thanks to production in large quantities, the individual artisans in those areas were able to specialize and provide the utmost in quality.
