Nicole Deisenberger is the new museum director

Since June 1, 2021, the German Watch Museum Furtwangen has a new director.

"My previous museum work was driven by the desire to look beyond my own circle and to work in an interdisciplinary way."

The German Clock Museum in Furtwangen has one of the most important collections on clocks and watchmaking, this is a veritable cornucopia of inspiration for enthusiasts and experts.

Nevertheless, most of the visitors are passing by at the museum during their leisure stay in the Black Forest. Black Forest tourism is growing since years.  This development could also be used for the clock museum. Nicole Deisenberger says, "In my opinion, science and tourism do not form a divide, but rather condition each other and raise questions of communication with our visitors."

Social media and digital media make it easy to communicate with visitors, the new director will concentrate on this topic as well. "The encounter with the audience at eye level and the dialogue with our visitors are always at the focus of my work, one reason why I prefer the term of  "Dialogpartner:innen" rather than target groups."
