Copernican Planetarium
Philipp Matthäus Hahn, Kornwestheim, 1774
The Württemberg pastor, Philipp Matthäus Hahn (1739-1790), implemented all of the known planets of the time and their satellites in his sole planetarium. Thanks to cleverly calculated transmission ratios, the gears move at a natural rate of speed. Acquired through the Margrave of Baden, it was used for instructional purposes in the Collegium Illustre, today's Karlsruhe University.
