Astronomical Geographic Clock

Father Thaddäus Rinderle, St. Peter, 1787

This clock shows the passage of the sun and the moon, eclipses, the pattern of the length of daytime and night-time hours during the year, as well as the difference between real solar time and mean time. It is driven by a wooden movement from the Black Forest. Thaddäus Rinderle's (1748-1824) clock is among the most original creations by the so-called priest-mechanic.
